Walking Your Way To A Healthier Life

You take it for granted. You don’t even give it a thought. After all, all you need to do is put one foot in front of the other and you’ve moved. Keep doing it and you’ll find yourself in completely different surroundings than those you started in. Sounds normal, doesn’t it? So, with this absolutely wonderful piece of machinery at hand, why are more and more of us opting for the shortest possible walking experience we can have. Take a moment and ask yourself this—and be totally honest—How often to do you walk to your car or public transport, for that matter, to take a journey that would take you less than 15 minutes to walk? How often do ask someone to bring you something, so you can remain seated, rather than get up and get it yourself? I know, what you may be thinking… that’s a bit harsh. Will is it, really?

The featured video in this post is called ‘The Gift Of Walking’ and is presented by George Halvorson, Chairman of Kaiser Permanente, a USA based foundation. George gives a comprehensive list of reasons as to why you should ensure walking is elevated in importance in your daily life.
